A key goal of the Center for Freeform Optics is to educate the next generation of optical engineers in the theoretical foundations, the techniques, and the tools that are needed for developing freeform optical systems in both imaging and non-imaging systems. Through exposure to industry’s critical needs, the students develop knowledge and a set of unique skills that position them to bring this technology to bear in a fast moving competitive market.
