Greg Forbes joins CeFO

GregForbesGreg Forbes, who pioneered the Q-polynomials for aspherics and recently extended his polynomial set to freeform optics, is joining CeFO as a faculty member, after recently becoming an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Carolina.

Following his PhD at the Australian National University, Dr. Forbes was a Fulbright Fellow at the Optical Sciences Center (Tucson, 1984), a tenured faculty member of The Institute of Optics (Rochester, 1985-1994), and a Research Professor in Physics at Macquarie University (Sydney, 1994-2000). He is an OSA Fellow (1996) and was awarded OSA’s David Richardson Medal (2012) for his contributions in aberration theory, propagation, asymmetric optical system design, and manufacturing for aspheres.
